Finance Director – Accounts to Report

Who are we looking for?

This position is responsible to lead a range of Account to Report (A2R) processes that will be split between this and peer director role both based in Prague. The split of the processes is to be confirmed, the range includes: J&J internal GAAP reporting, US GAAP reporting, Local Statutory Accounting; Revenue, Fixed Assets, Procurement Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Lease Accounting, etc.

Your responsibilities & Your Impact:

  • Leading a team of approximately 90 direct and indirect reports, while responsible for delivering high quality, compliant, end to end Account to Report processes [exact split and ownership of processes with peer role TBC].
  • Provide strategic direction to team and empower and hold the team accountable to own the end to end processes driving standardization and continuous improvement
  • Hold the team accountable for ensure the completeness, accuracy and validity of the numbers under their responsibility
  • Collaboration with other regional centers to drive global standardization and efficiency opportunities
  • Have a strong business understanding of the J&J businesses supported and promote the same business acumen within teams
  • Ensure collaboration within the team and with other finance partners across the regions, including:

- Business Unit Finance Country and Cluster Finance Directors and Regional Controllers
- Financial Planning & Analysis Center of Excellence
- Country Tax Centers in the region
- Global Services Compliance
- Other Global Services stakeholders including Procurement and Project Management Office

  • Ensure the whole team embed compliance within all their processes
  • Develop succession plans for and support career development of the team
  • Ensure effective performance management within team, with full autonomy for hiring, training and termination decisions.
  • Ensure Operational key contacts for all sectors/regions and SMEs for all sub processes are established and maintained.

People Management:

  • Management and Leadership of approx. 90 people
  • Actively contribute to develop employees by encouraging movement across processes within A2R
  • Take the ownership for employees` performance and development in a way that maximizes the performance and development of self and others (ensuring ‘5 Leader Conversations’)
  • Empower people to act with speed, agility, and accountability enabling them to achieve their goals
  • Make decisions and take actions based on a global and/or enterprise-wide mindset that adds value across the organization
  • Promote the work environment that leverages diverse perspectives, backgrounds and talent to generate innovative ideas or solutions, challenge status quo, leads and adapts to change
  • Create a trusting, collaborative, and ethical work environment that positively contributes to employee engagement and retention

We would love to hear from YOU, if you have:

  • 10+ years of overall job experience in different Finance functions and roles
  • Previous experience from a similar role
  • US GAAP reporting experience – solid US GAAP accounting knowledge
  • Fully qualified accountant or an international qualified accountant equivalent (ACCA or CIMA)
  • Fluent English spoken and written
  • Other languages of EMEA countries preferred but not required
  • Previous experience working within international corporate company or shared services organization is a plus
  • Travel: approx.. 10-25 %
